How did Pakistan's 20 rupee note cause a stir in India?

According to the police, this Pakistani Rs 20 note was recovered from Manas Lake Housing Society, 18 km away from the National Defence Academy (NDA).


 A Pakistani note has been recovered from a housing society in the Indian city of Pune, after which the police have launched an investigation.

According to the Indian Express, a 20-rupee Pakistani note was recovered from the elevator of a residential society near a village in Pune.

Residents of the society have handed over a Rs 20 note to the Baudhan Police Station, after which the police are investigating.

According to the police, this Pakistani note of Rs 20 was recovered from the Manas Lake Housing Society, 18 Kilometers away from the National Defense Academy (NDA).

Anil Vibhute, in-charge of Baudhan police station says, "After receiving the note, the residents of the society contacted the police station. They filed a petition to resolve the matter and handed over the note to the police".

Police say they have launched an investigation and further action will be taken as information is received. The police station in-charge further said, "There are 84 flats in this housing society. A CCTV camera is installed near the lift, but it has not been working since November 24 last year".

Police say more CCTV cameras from the housing society will be reviewed and statements from residents will be recorded. The police have not yet registered an FIR into the incident.
